Happy Friday friends! We are in the home stretch to Christmas. Only seven more days, and I can’t wait. My in-laws are arriving the morning of Christmas Eve, and I’m looking forward to celebrating.
You know what I’ll be doing this weekend: watching alllll the holiday movies and baking all of the cookies. Looking back over this week and year, Aaron and I have been incredibly blessed. We always said that 2020 would “be our year,” and in certain ways, it really has been. I’m so thankful for old friends – and new – who have stepped in and found creative ways to make sure that Aaron and I have felt the love this year.
From our new neighbors who keep bringing cookies (and our red Christmas bow) to welcome us to the neighborhood, and to our team who helped us buy a house – to our friends who have found creative ways to connect from a distance. Thank you all. You have been the shining spots in this year. For an “introverted extrovert” like me, I miss my people, and working from home has been such an adjustment, but I’ve made it work, and I’m better off because of it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I know that it hasn’t been that way for many people, and if you fall into that category, I really hope that you can find some things that bring you joy looking toward next year. Send me an email, and I’m happy to add you to my prayer list!
This week has been all about the festive Zoom parties, but a virtual party just isn’t the same as an in-person celebration.
I received a surprise holiday cookie delivery from a friend!
And of course, Houston Zoo Lights.
Favorite Christmas Movies
I have loooots of wrapping to do, a major trip to the grocery store and a Costco run are all in the my future this weekend. But let’s forget about the grocery list and go straight to the wrapping, which I always like to do with a Christmas movie playing in the background. Some of my favorites will be in my queue this weekend!
Elf
Love Actually
The Holiday
Home Alone
The Santa Claus
