Fredericksburg, Texas: Wine Weekend Part 1

Albertina House | Fredericksburg, Texas

Since none of us are doing a whole lot of traveling these days, we can always turn back to our memories of when we were traveling. The good thing about picking this blog back up years later, is that I have lots of things to share!

For my actual birthday last year, I was at a friend’s bachelorette party. So, Aaron and I decided to celebrate a couple of weekends later with a wine weekend in Fredericksburg, Texas. Now, if you aren’t from Texas, I’ll give a quick little background for you.

Fredericksburg is this (not so hidden) gem of a place located in the Texas Hill Country about 45 minutes outside of Austin. It is considered Texas Wine Country. It’s beautiful, and over the years, more than 100 wineries have popped up. It’s a must-see spot if you are visiting Texas (or live here and haven’t had made your way to Fredericksburg). It’s the cutest, quaint town, and if you like wine – you have to visit.

I loved the balcony overlooking Main Street.

Our Fredericksburg Trip

We went with eight people: two other couples and two of my best girl friends. We decided to rent an airbnb for the weekend because we wanted to be able to hang out together in the evenings. So, we chose a historic home (a Victorian German to be exact) located right in the heart of Main Street. It’s the Albertina if you are curious. It was a beautiful home and had more than enough space/bedrooms for eight adults. We loved the firepit in the back, and the host provided breakfast snacks. You can’t beat the location and proximity to restaurants, shopping and wine – everything is walkable, including the wine shuttle. You can book directly here

Vaudeville Restaurant | charcuterie board

The group of friends that we went with all enjoy a really good meal, and so when we learned that Vaudeville was right next to the the house, we made reservations asap. In my opinion, it’s one of the best restaurants in Fredericksburg. Their charcuterie board was delicious – and the entrees were just as good. Highly recommended spot if you are ever in Fredericksburg.

When we got back to the house after dinner, we decided to go to bed so we could be ready for some wine tasting the next day. I’ll be back with part 2 of our trip to wine weekend tomorrow!

Happy Wednesday, friends.
