Puerto Vallarta – My Bachelorette Recap Part II

I hope you enjoyed Part I of my throwback recap to my bachelorette party in Puerto Vallarta yesterday. I’m back today for part II. I left you yesterday at night one. Now, my friends and I all love a mix of adventure and relaxation. So, we decided as a group, that Day 2 would be our adventure day. We researched some options with our hotel when we check in, and we decided that the ziplining/horseback riding/ATV adventure with a tequila tasting, was something that we would all more than enjoy.

So, we booked the tour through our hotel the day before, and we had to do a short, ten minute walk down the resort to the tour office, where they transported us to our zip lining adventure.

It was a short, 20-30 minute bus ride, and they fitted us with our equipment as soon as we arrived. Because we were a group of 7, we had out own private group, which was great.

We don’t have a ton of photos of us zip lining because we were going through the jungle and through the water, so we had to keep our phones safe. Now, this was my first time to ever zipline. It was equally thrilling – and equal parts scary. Some of the platforms were pretty high, and I would get nervous each time I jumped off one. I think we went through about 10-12 jumps.

The horseback riding portion of the tour was probably the shortest. It was maybe about a 20-30 minute horseback ride back to the start of the tour. But, once we got back to the top of the mountain, they had our tequila tasting ready for us. We tasted six different types of tequila, and it went about as well as you expect. If you like tequila, I highly recommend because you get a taste for the different varieties.

Then, we waited around for our ATV adventure to start. They had hammocks all around the property to relax in, and if I’m being honest, I needed a nap before I got on the ATV.

They had us wait about 45 minutes until we could ATV because they were waiting on another large group to return. And again, we had the tour all to ourselves. Our guide fitted us with helmets and made sure we were all comfortable riding the ATV before we hit the trails. It was my first time on an ATV, but I felt like they gave thorough instruction.

Now, they have you riding through the hills on these things – and through some water. Which, again, was equally fun – and equal parts scary. The middle of the tour takes you to a swimming hole where they let you get out and play in the water for a bit. Then, you start the journey back to the headquarters. I think the entire ATV tour lasted about an hour.

Once we made it back to the headquarters, they have lunch prepared for you and some delicious margaritas.

And our group loved the margaritas. Then, the bus came to take us back to our resort. I would say that in total, this tour was phenomenal. There was a lot packed in, and it took about half a day to get through all of the things. This is the company we used. 10/10 would recommend, and I’m also looking into them for a possible tour when we return in June (so, stay tuned, I’ll let you know what we end up doing). I want to say it was just about $150 for all of the activities including the transportation to and from, the ziplining, the tequila tasting, the horseback riding, the ATV tour, and the food. So, we definitely got our money’s worth.

Night 2

secrets Puerto Vallarta

We decided that our night 2, was our night to get fancy, go to a nice dinner at our hotel and head to their nightclub. We at at Tamarindo, which is just one of the restaurants at the resort. And ya’ll, it was delicious. Secrets had some amazing food, and we ate all of meals except for two at the resort. Tamarindo was their authentic Mexican cuisine restaurant, and was located in Now Amber, which is the resort right next door (within walking distance). Secrets guests can dine at Now Amber facilities.

The meal was incredible. Here is the whole bachelorette group before dinner.

After dinner, we headed to the nightclub at Secrets. I’m not a huge club person, but if there is music – and dancing with my girlfriends, count me in. The flash tattoos were very popular back when I had my bachelorette party, so we put on our flash tats and hit the club.

Now, the club was fun and felt safe. There was good music, and I was with my friends. If that’s your thing, give it a shot. If not, there are plenty of other things to do.

We stayed for a bit and headed back to our rooms for the evening, and were pleasantly surprised by the fireworks show that the resort put on that evening (I think for a wedding that was taking place).

I’m going to leave you with that, but I’ll be back tomorrow for the last and final recap. We try out the spa – and went on another adventure. Thanks for coming along.
