My thoughts on Farmhouse Delivery

Farmhouse Delivery

Happy Wednesday! I’m counting down the days until the end of the week, because we have a fun weekend planned with two of our best friends. Meanwhile, this guy has been following me around the house like it’s his job. Ya’ll, I love this dog!

He is trying to go run an errand with me.

He’s been extra clingy lately, and I’m sure it’s because his schedule has been so out of whack. We’ve moved things around, and we are storing furniture out in the garage while we put the house back together.

Farmhouse Delivery

Last week I decided to try Farmhouse Delivery, which provides local produce, meat, groceries and more sourced from farmers. The best part? It’s delivered straight to your door.

I wanted to branch out a bit because I tend to stick to the same types of produce over and over, and I thought this would be a good way to expand my horizons. So, I purchased the medium, local produce box, which serves about 2-3 adults. I also purchased some cheddar and jalapeƱo bagels and some chive cream cheese.

My order was placed online on Wednesday, and I signed up for delivery on Friday. I knew I would be home so I could put everything in the fridge. My order arrived on my porch in these two refrigerated bags. My cream cheese was inside the bag, contained in a separate freezer pack, so it was nice and cold when it got here.

Farmhouse Delivery: Medium Produce Box

The medium produce box contained lots of goodies including:

  • rainbow carrots
  • a head of savoy cabbage
  • two avocados
  • two grapefruits
  • a head of butter lettuce
  • several beets

I really liked this mix, because it’s causing me to step outside of my comfort zone when it comes to cooking. Tonight, I’m planning to roast those carrots up. And tomorrow, I have plans to make that cabbage as a side dish.

We’ve eaten the grapefruits, which were delish, and I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing with those beets.

Now these bagels were so good. And here is the cream cheese I ordered:

So good. In fact, I’ve been making sandwiches for Aaron and I this week:

My Farmhouse Delivery also has made for some yummy breakfasts.

Now, they have Rancher Boxes that I am very interested in and will order before the end of the month. The rancher boxes contain meat that is pasture raised, contains no growth hormones or antibiotics and is humanely treated.

I’m glad I gave Farmhouse Delivery a try, and it’s something that I’ll keep up with here and there as I need new ideas for lunches and dinners!
