Friday Favorites

I’ve got some fun Friday favorites to share. But first, maybe this week was the first week of school – or maybe today marks the end of the first week of your fiscal year. Whatever the occasion – Happy Friday! It’s been a good week, and my in-laws are coming into town later this afternoon. Here’s what I’ve been up to!

Evening walks

Houston Texas turtles

Aaron and I have been doing a ton of walking in the evenings, and this week, we came across something I’d never seen before. Houston has so many bayou systems, that I’ve seen a ton of wildlife, but on Monday evening, we came across soooooo many turtles. I had never seen so many all in one spot.

My Instant Pot

I busted out my Instant Pot to make some Instant Pot ribs this week! Winner winner chicken dinner. It was a hit.

Nespresso

I can’t quit it. You all know how much I love my Nespresso. I’m hoping they come out with a Fall flavor, but for now, I placed an order for some caramel cookie flavors, vanilla, stormio, Mexico, elvazio and Bianco forte.

A vet visit

The Spuds went to the vet earlier this week. I’m going to need to take a second set of hands with me the next time. They are manageable now, but I can’t guarantee if I’ll be able to handle them by myself when they get bigger. As an aside, they love the vet because they put squeeze cheese on everything. They think it’s just the best.

A clean house

While we were at the vet, Martha came over to clean the house. It’s not something that I have done regularly, but we had so much going on this week, that it was so worth it. I came home to a clean house, which was the best feeling in the world. So tonight, instead of that rush cleaning I do before having guests, it’s nice and clean.

Cute puppies

Tex discovered he could jump up on the couch all by himself this week. Look at that precious angel face. I don’t love having dogs on furniture, so we need to work on that, but he just looked so cute and cozy.

Iced Matcha

A nice cup of warm or iced matcha is something I treat myself to every now and then in the afternoon. Matcha has so many health benefits (I buy organic Matcha from The Path of Tea), and it’s delicious. I add in a bit of oat milk, and it’s just a luxurious drink. If I’m digging into a project – an afternoon cup of warm matcha is one of the best ways to get in a good headspace to get that project done. Give it a try!

My Blinds

Ya’ll. I never thought I’d be so excited about this, but my blinds got installed this week. I mentioned earlier that we had someone come out to measure four of our windows for some woven wood shades. I L-O-V-E them. Like – I want to do some more of my windows!

I’m a big fan of natural light in houses, and this gives me the option to let the light filter in – or raise them completely so I can still have my natural light. They measured one of my windows incorrectly, so my biggest window will be done probably next week. But, the three they did look awesome.

Okay friends, I’m off to have a fun weekend in Canton with my mother-in-law!!!!!
