Sawyer’s Adoption Anniversary +My New Roomba

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was cold and rainy this weekend in Houston. Certain parts of Texas received snow, but Houston wasn’t lucky enough. My in-laws and my grandma were out playing in the snow all day, so I got to live vicariously through their photos.

All I got was the photo of the car temperature so I could show my parents how cold it was here in Houston. A whopping 38 degrees.

We spent a ton of time in front of the fire this weekend!

Friday was a busy day in the Gomez household. Aaron and I were working. I have a big project coming up on Feb. 4th, and I have a presentation that I’m giving this afternoon. So, I spent all day glued to my computer. Aaron dropped Sawyer off for a grooming appointment Friday afternoon. I picked him up when I wrapped up with work, and I sure did miss having my buddy working right next to me. We were both happy to be reunited.

Sawyer and I are celebrating his 10-year adoption anniversary this week: January 13, 2011 is the day I rescued him from the Georgetown Humane Society, and it was one of the best days of both of our lives for so many reasons. Sawyer is my sidekick, and we’ve been through so much together. He will be 13 this year, and I’m hopeful that we have several more good years left with him. He’s one pampered pup! (We actually bought our new house with Sawyer in mind. He was having a bit of a difficult time doing a lot of stairs, so we knew we needed a single story).

Christmas takedown

I took Christmas down this weekend. As much as I love having all of our decorations up, it sure is nice to have a clean start at the beginning of the year. Now, I can focus on putting some of the finishing touches on the house. Speaking of….

Our dining room chairs finally arrived this weekend. Aaron went to go pick them up on Saturday. I need a centerpiece for the table, some curtains and some wall art – and that room will be finished!

Roomba

A friend of our gifted us a Roomba for a dual housewarming/Christmas gift. And the Roomba is the gift I never knew I needed. We powered him up on Saturday, after I had already given the house a thorough vacuum. And, he picked up so much dust and dirt. It’s no secret that Aaron and I have two large dogs, and vacuuming is a daily (sometimes twice-daily) chore. The Roomba is going to really pull his weight in the Gomez household!

I’ll be back tomorrow with my Bachelor Recap. If you missed last week’s, you can read it here.
