Things I’m Loving Lately

Sawyer | Houston golden retriever

This going to be the most random collection of things I’m loving lately. I had to laugh a little bit because this list has a huuuuge spectrum. It spans comfort and luxury, all the way to my vacuums (which are really taking one for the team lately). So, I figured I’d share – and give you a bit more insight into what I’m doing when I’m not working.

Aaron and I have always talked about buying and flipping a house. Not a complete gut, but a bit of a project that we could spruce up a bit. After our crash course in home renovation over the last couple of weeks, I don’t think it’s a terrible idea, but it’s a bit more time consuming than I originally thought. Although, now we have a bit more insight into everything involved. So, just some things to think about.

Sawyer

Back to the things I’m loving. Aaron and I don’t have kids, but we have Sawyer and Buttercup. I adopted Sawyer in 2011, and it’s been a full on love-fest with this dog ever since. Now, at the age of 13, he’s still the sweetest guy ever. He doesn’t know it, but he functions part time as my therapist when I’m having a bad day! He knows I’ve been a bit out of my element lately, and he’s been right here by my side keeping my sane.

One of the workers didn’t shut the door all the way yesterday, and he got out. You ever have a mini panic attack? Well, I had one. Luckily, one of my neighbors found him, gave him some water and posted him on our neighborhood Facebook page. We picked him up, and he seemed real proud of himself.

Plantain Chips

I love a good snack. If I’m really digging into a project that requires some focused attention, I like to have a have a snack nearby. I picked these plantain chips up at Costco, and they are so good. You need them. You can dip them in hummus or salsa – or you can eat them plain. This is the brand I get.

New bed

ignore the mess in my room. The house is a disaster zone at the moment.

In between Texas’ arctic freeze and our pipes bursting, we are the proud owners of a new mattress and bed frame. It was our Valentine’s Day gift. We had been looking at a new mattress for awhile, but we stumbled upon a new bed frame also. Now, hear me out. I thought it sounded a bit weird at first, but we got an adjustable bed frame. You can put it in zero gravity position, adjust the lumbar settings, tilt up at an incline. And – it has a massage feature. I LOVE IT. Now, it was purchased prior to the disaster that’s happening in our home, and it was delivered in the midst of the chaos. So, we might not have ceilings in two of our rooms, but we have a vibrating bed. #adulting. We have this one.

Sour Candy

I’ve been on a sour candy kick. I have a major sweet tooth, and it’s typically for sour candy. I love the Albanese gummy bears – I really think they are the best out there, and they come in so many flavors. So, I was thrilled to find that they make sour ones. I grabbed a bag, and they were delicious! I think they have something like 12 different flavors. You can get them at Target or off of Amazon.

Christmas Tree Storage Bags

Christmas tree storage bags | waterproof

I told you this list would be super random. After some of our pipes ruptured in the attic, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to store my Christmas trees in some waterproof bags. I keep my Christmas trees in our inside attic, along with some of my decorations, which are already stored in airtight tubs. The boxes I had our trees in got a bit wet, so I went ahead and purchased some waterproof bags, and I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. I have this brand, and it protects all kinds of things like insects – or water.

Roomba+Dyson Animal

Roomba

I’ve talked about my beloved Roomba before. But this week, it’s really coming in handy. I’ve had several workers in and out of the house every day since last Thursday, and they are tracking in all kinds of stuff. Not to mention the stuff they are removing, including insulation, old piping, etc… It’s stirring up a lot of dust and debris in the house. So, I’ve been running the Roomba as soon as they leave in the evening, and I also do a thorough once-over with my handheld Dyson. Gamechangers!

That’s all I have today, but I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!
