Costco Picks

Neutrogena sunscreen

Happy Wednesday- I want to share some of my top Costco picks today! It’s been raining every day in Houston since last weekend, and the last couple of days have been no exception. It typically starts raining right around early afternoon and pours on and off through the rest of the day!

rainy day Houston

Buttercup does not love all the rain, so she’s been working with me right under my desk.

Excuse the mess – my office is currently in my dining room, but, we got news that the crew is going to start on June 8! I cannot wait. I’ve met with our contractor several times, and we’ve gone over the plan, and I feel confident that he’s going to do a fabulous job. That being said, I wanted to make sure that we were stocked up on some things since my kitchen is going to be out of commission for a bit while they work – and I’m going to need to be here while they finish the project. A trip to Costco was in the cards.

Costco haul

It was one of my more random Costco trips because I needed more household items than I did food items. Before I got married, I used to just get my household supplies from Target. But, husbands require a lot of stuff. So, we got a membership about one year into married life, and we haven’t looked back.

Top Costco picks

Here are my top Costco picks this trip.

Waterloo summer berry

You saw in yesterday’s post that I love Waterloo’s new Summer Berry flavor. It comes in a multi-pack at Costco for a really great price. I also love the Strawberry and Blueberry flavors, so I’m hoping to keep this pack in rotation throughout the summer. Last year, that had a pack with the coconut flavor, which is one of my favorites, so I’m going to be on the lookout for that also.

Costco | chicken sausage

Chicken sausages are often my go-to for a very quick weeknight dinner. Costco has different brands throughout the year, and I had not tried this brand yet. Smoke mozzarella with artichokes and garlic sounded delicious, so I picked up this pack of 16. Each sausage has 16 grams of protein. I’ll let you know when we give them a try.

Neutrogena sunscreen

I love Costco’s sunscreen packs. They have packages of the spray sunscreen as well, but I prefer the lotion because I feel like it gives better protection. Remember, that anytime you are in the sun, you need to wear sunscreen – whether you are going outside for a walk, a run or just a short period of time. Using sunscreen is the easiest way to combat skin cancer. The big size is great for when friends come over and need to use some for the pool. And, the small size is carry-on acceptable for travel. I’m taking this one on our trip in a couple of weeks.

Costco frozen fruit

I also picked up a bag of frozen fruit for those smoothies I like to make. I like this blend because it’s got some great summer fruits like strawberries, mango, pineapple and peaches.

There’s one of my smoothies using the fruit blend. This one has a banana, spinach, almond milk, a handful of the frozen fruit and some chia seeds. Delish!

I also managed to grab some toilet paper (#adulting) and some toilet cleaner (#tmi) and some laundry pods. But, I feel all set and prepared as I can be for home renovations. The plan is to have the house done in two weeks – and in my mind, I’m building in a third week of cushion time. While I’m thankful to be working from home and can be here to oversee the work, it’s going to be tricky. I’ve got an office set up in my garage, which is thankfully, air conditioned. Our dog, Buttercup, will also need to work with me for a bit – and she doesn’t love having strangers in and out of the house. But, it will all be worth it once my house it put back together.

I’m also planning to have someone come in and do a deep clean once the work is all finished. Stay tuned! Happy Wednesday, friends. I don’t know about you, but I’ve only got one more work day left before I can get my long weekend started!
