Weekend Edit: Ho Ho Ho Family Christmas Edition

ho family

Happy Tuesday, friends. I hope that your week is off to a wonderful start and that you are geared up for the holidays. I’m counting down the days (T-1.5) until my vacation begins. At 2 p.m. tomorrow, I’m off for 11 glorious days. Aaron and I are going to head to California to spend Christmas with my family, and I’m so excited. The last time I was there was last Thanksgiving, so needless to say, I’ll be thrilled to squeeze my parents in person.

I met a friend for lunch this afternoon, and I’m so glad I did. My to-do list was a million boxes long, but I made a game time decision and made it happen. This goes back to my whole: work – life balance scenarios that I’m always preaching about. We had fabulous food and conversation, and I came back ready to dive right back into my work day. Dare I say that I might have been even more productive because I gave myself a mental break. In the past, my job had the tendency to slow down during the holidays, but I’ve taken on an expanded role this year, and it’s just not the case. However, I’m determined not to open up my computer for work while I’m off, and I think I owe it to myself to stay away from the email for a couple of days.

Another exciting thing happened yesterday (and this is how I know I’m adulting hardcore these days). My last woven wood shade was finally installed. It’s been nearly four months, and I was getting tired of waiting. The company came and installed my other windows about a week after I made the appointment, but they measured my largest window incorrectly. Then, there was a “materials shortage,” and four months later…. we have a blind. I won’t use the company again, because quite frankly, they were terrible to work with. But, I do love the final result. Now, I just need to figure out what art work is going to go on that wall!

christmas tank

Before our cold front came in on Saturday, which cause a bunch of rain, I was running around doing errands in my Christmas tank top! The cold front dropped our weather down about 30 degrees in a matter of hours.

facial

I was supposed to have a facial on Friday, but my lady called and asked if I could move to Saturday instead. Saturday was actually a much better day. She laminated my brows this time, we did some derma planing and she did an enzyme peel. We looked at some before and afters, and the green peel we did last time really helped fade some of my dark spots. Yes, it’s an investment to go every month, but I really feel like she is getting my skin to a great spot in my 30s. We’ve been doing custom facials, where I kind of just let her have her way with my face, and I’m not looking back!

boot walk swag

I received a Boot Walk gift in the mail from my Team Captain. Ya’ll, my team managed to raise $25,000 – and the overall total was at more than $1.7 million.

christmas gifts

I received another Christmas package from a friend. I love getting fun little packages during the holidays. It had some of Harry and David’s famous pears, and they are so delicious.

After my facial, I had to pre-game with some coffee because we had our annual Ho Family Christmas party.

This party had a lot of fun tradition associated with it, and after missing this party last year, it was good to get together again. We always do a $30 real gift, and a $5 gag gift. One year, I ended up with a cat.

Sundays were for cuddling with the Spuds and church.

And, I closed my weekend off with a little peloton run. I’m really liking the Tread, and I owe you all a review here shortly.
