Weekend Recap

x-box

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The weather was just perfect in Houston, and we spent a lot of time outside.

Bike route

Saturday

Bike ride | Houston

Saturday morning I woke up around 8 a.m., and we decided to do about
20-miles on the bikes. We finished in about two hours. It was suuuper windy on our way back, which makes it so much harder. We had someone come pick up allll of our moving boxes, so I can park my car in the garage now (yay)!!!

Moving boxes

Our new neighborhood brings in different food trucks on certain weekends throughout the year. They had a local taco food truck and the Mooseum ice cream truck come out on Saturday. So, Aaron and I swung by, grabbed some tacos (and chips and queso) and met some of our new neighbors.

Office
(I took a photo of my office because I miss it so much)

After that, I had to head down to my office in the Medical Center to pick up a print that our graphics team made. It’s a surprise gift for someone super special on my team who will be retiring at the end of the year.

Dining Room Table | Birch Lane | Earp Table
(sneak peek)

While we were out, our new dining room table got delivered!!!! I’ll show some photos and some ideas for our dining room soon. It’s not finished yet, but this was a beautiful table, and we have lots of ideas.

I did end up having to do a bit of work on Saturday evening (wild times, right?). But, it didn’t take me too long, and it was for an event that we are hosting today!

Sunday

We woke up Sunday morning to some rain (and a bit of a cold front). We spent some time out back doing some backyard cleanup. The cold front blew in a lot of leaves, so we needed to clear the yard (and the pool). I’m in a losing battle with these leaves 🙂 After that, we watched church online, and my pastor said something that really hit home for me.

“Gold is refined by fire.”

And it really reminded me that when we go through struggles of any kind (whether they are big or small), there is truly a greater purpose. So, if you needed to hear that today, I hope it helps.

Dog walk

After church, I went for a three-mile run and walked Sawyer. I went to the grocery store before we……

Installed our new toy! Some of our best friends, who happen to live in St. Louis, gifted us an XBox as a housewarming gift.

Christmas bow

Our sweet neighbor dropped off some housewarming cookies and our mailbox bow. It’s a tradition in our new neighborhood to decorate mailboxes with the red bow, and she gave one to me. Thankful for friends and neighbors who love (and celebrate us well).

Met our friend and his mom for dinner at a local Mexican food restaurant, which was really delicious!

Monday

virtual event

Today, I have a virtual work event that I’ve been working on that I’m super proud of! It’s a new (to me) project, and it’s already raised just short of $1 million for cancer research.

Hope you all have a fabulous week,

Kira
