Weekend Recap

Happy Monday – I’m back today with a recap of our relatively low-key weekend. It was raining all day Friday while I was working, so I knew that would be the perfect evening to just stay in. Aaron was on board, so as soon as I stopped working on Friday, it turned into pizza night at the Gomez house.

We watched some Netflix movies, snuggled some puppies, and we were in bed by 11!

Saturday

We had a vet appointment with the pups for their 10-week check up on Saturday morning. These two have tripled in size dines we were in last. Cali is 13-pounds, and Tex is 13 3/4 pounds. They got some vaccinations (our vet recommended we start completely over just to be safe), and we were on our way.

Aaron and I swung by Best Buy to grab some new ear buds because his weren’t charging anymore, and we made it back home. My Apple Watch challenge for the month is to burn 10,800 calories before the end of the month, which equates to about 358/day. So, I did a quick workout on the Kira Stokes app on Saturday afternoon.

I took a quick walk while I chatted with my parents, and I managed to hop in the shower very quickly before Alice came over for a bit.

This is how you pre-game in a mid-30s post-COVID world 🙂 Aaron and I had plans on Saturday night to meet up with some friends to watch the UFC Fight. We went to On the Kirb in Midtown, and we saw some friends I haven’t seen for more than a year. I really missed nights like those, and it’s nice to be getting back out there again!

Sunday

We got home around 12:30, and we went straight to bed. The puppies have been pretty consistently getting up around 5:30-6 a.m., and Aaron usually takes them out. I’ve been trying to get them to go back to sleep until around 8. And, yesterday, it was a success!!!!

Because I was up around 8, I took my opportunity to head to the grocery store early. But, because I went before breakfast, I came home with all sorts of delicious goodies. I threw these jalapeño cheddar bagels in my cart, along with this jalapeño cream cheese. Name a better duo.

I turned those into a delicious breakfast with some eggs!

Houston's first baptist

We watched church online! We were in the book of Nehemiah today, and the message was on “naysayers.” In short, we need to always just keep our eyes focused on God. It was a good message!

After church, I did some laundry, and Aaron and I decided to take a walk since it wasn’t raining. It was actually kind of cloudy, so it didn’t feel as hot as it can be during our July summers. We did five miles.

After we got back from our walk, Blair came over to see the pups! And, my friends, that was how we ended our weekend. It was full, but relaxing, and I’m looking forward to the week ahead. My friend is coming in to Houston (she moved about 3 hours away) for lunch later this week, and I have a tennis lesson on the books at some point! I’m also planning a little getaway for our 5 year anniversary, which is coming up in August!

Have a great week.
