Friday Favorites

verity

Happy Friday! It feels nice to have made it through my first full work week of the year. I’m back in my groove, and it’s been a good, productive week. I’m here at my desk trying to get through a few emails before I head out for my ultrasound and my glucose test. Can’t wait to see our little guy – but dreading the glucose test. Although, several friends have told me the orange flavor isn’t that bad. After my appointment is over, I’ll finish up my work day at home.

What’s on our weekend agenda?

house of noa

After having a whole blissful week off from work in between Christmas and New Years, the weekends just don’t seem nearly long enough. I wouldn’t say I’m in full on nesting mode, but I am in full on planning mode. The first couple of weeks in January have gone by way too fast for my liking, so I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row when I have spare moments here and there. If you saw my post on Wednesday, I gave you a sneak peek of our nursery. And, this weekend, I need to choose the glider/rocker/recliner for our nursery so it’s here in time. It’s something I know I’ll use as soon as baby is here, so I want to at least get it ordered!

Wedding dress shopping

Shopping for wedding dresses with my friends will never get old. This week, I met one of my friends so she could try on some dresses for her wedding. She’s doing a bit of a non-traditional wedding, so she’s been able to experiment with some fun looks. BHLDN had some great two-piece sets and some great options beyond the more traditional wedding dresses. This was one of my favorites that my friend tried on.

Taking it slower

I’m enjoying taking it a bit slower – and getting back in my reading groove. This week, I started Verity by Colleen Hoover. I’ve heard all the hype about this book, and it’s definitely piqued my interest. So, as soon as this one arrived in the mail, I got started on it.

My puppies

Another favorite is my puppies. They are just the cutest little things. They are t-r-o-u-b-l-e for sure, but I’m so thankful that they’ve kept me moving and active over these last few months. Tex and Cali have truly been a great source of support for me during the holidays – seriously – and they just make me smile every day. I talk a lot about how they are my little sidekicks throughout the days, but the love my husband equally as much.

Running

running

I’m still at it, friends. This was me and the bump (it’s there, I promise) before I jumped on the Peloton. If you’re familiar with any of the Peloton Tread instructors, Becs Gentry is one of my favorites. She had her baby toward the end of last year, but she kept teaching right up to the end. So, I’ve been taking some of her on demand classes when she was pregnant – in the hopes that she will take it easy. And nope – the woman is a beast – even when she was probably 7 or 8 months pregnant. I adjust my speeds and inclines accord to what feels good for my body!

New recipes

I’ve tried a couple of new recipes over this week, and they are easy and delicious. I’ll share them over the next couple of weeks. I’m eating all the food groups these days, which I’m thankful for. For awhile there, I had aversions to meat, coffee and really anything other than fruit and carbs.

Special deliveries

newton

And last on my list of Friday Favorites this week is some special deliveries. I’m starting completely from scratch with this baby. I never really thought about how much stuff you would need. So, friends have been loaning me some items, relatives have been shipping some clothes, and this week, our crib mattress arrived. We went with the Newton because of the breathability factor – and it came highly recommended from several friends. All this stuff is currently being stored in our garage until we officially get to work on the nursery 🙂 And, I’m really trying not to panic. But, because we have guests staying with us in February for my baby shower, I’ll need use of my two guest rooms. So, this will all start to happen in March. Stay tuned for all the fun!
