Happy Friday! I always get some of my best work done on Fridays – seriously. When I was working from my office in the Med Center, it was casual – so we could wear jeans every Friday. And, since many people were working schedules that allowed them to have Fridays off, it was pretty quiet in the office.
Friday coffee
I would grab some Starbucks on my way to work – or walk over to the Starbucks on Fannin and grab some coffee and have myself a nice little work day. Now that I’m working from home, Fridays are still my favorite day to work. It’s the one day a week where I”m not getting bombarded by emails, so I can carve out some chunks of time to cross some projects off my to do list. I’ve also got my favorite Nespresso machine not far away.
Lately, I’ve been loving their Tropical Coconut Iced Coffee flavor. You can make it iced – but it’s honestly just as good if you brew it hot as well.
Facials
So – your girl isn’t getting any younger over here 🙂 And, I’m trying to make a conscious effort to start making my skincare a priority. Before I got married, I was doing regular facials at Beautique, and I really felt like they were making a difference. Now that my skin has some different needs, and I’ve got some hyperpigmentation that I’m trying to address (thank you California sun for that), I really did some research about who I should go see in Houston.
I found an aesthetician, and I’ve now been to see her twice. Luckily, I was able to pop in earlier this week, and she is amazing. I’m on her schedule every month for the next couple of months, and I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Facials are so relaxing, and my skin always feels fabulous.
I did a custom facial with her this time, but it involved microdermabrasion and some dermaplaning. we also threw an eyebrow tint in there!
Puppies
In my pupdate earlier this week, I shared the progress our pups are making. I mentioned that we had gone a couple of days without any accidents in the house. We’ve now gone the entire week without any accidents, so I’m really hoping they get it! I would be thrilled to be able to trust them a little bit more on my floors.
Tennis
While the weather ruined my plans to play tennis this week, I’ve got some plans to practice with a friend over the next couple of days while my instructor is in Spain. I’m actually really enjoying my lessons, and I’m on the hunt for my own racquet – I’ve been borrowing a friends.
Friends
Ya’ll, I’m just really thankful for our friends this week. We’ve had kind of a rough year, and when things have gotten difficulty, our friends have showed up. When Buttercup passed away, our friends sent cookies – and flowers – and a key lime pie was showed up on our doorstep. Find some good people – and keep them!
My weekend plans first and foremost involve watching the Olympics! I’ve always loved them, and I can’t wait to watch them take place in Tokyo (it might even give me some much-needed Inspo to create those Japan travel guides). I’ve got some lunch plans with a friend, and I really hope that some church and some pool time are in my future!
