Happy Monday, friends. Remember when I said on Friday that I had zero plans on the books for the weekend? Well, it ended up being eventful in the best way possible. I figured I’d show you my weekend through a series of photos.

Friday

I had been sitting at my desk all day on Friday and in desperate need of getting outside. So, I decided to take about a 45-minute walk after I logged out of my work computer. The weather in Houston has been wet and rainy all last week, and there was a brief break in the rain….. I was about 10 minutes into my walk, and it started pouring on me. Luckily, I was able to wait out the worst of it under an overhang.

I’ll be better at this, but I don’t have a photo (nor am I sticking to my one sentence rule) from dinner on Friday night. We met a friend at Lomonte’s, and it continues to be a winner. I had the pistachio crusted chicken, and I’ll be getting that again.

Saturday

Nespresso

I had my beloved Nespresso for coffee. I made myself a cappuccino with the Voltessio pod.

breakfast

Then, I made an egg for breakfast, with a piece of my Zucchini bread (so good).

Aaron and I got out and went for a walk before it started raining. We did about 4.5 miles, and the weather was actually really nice out.

Sephora | city centre

After that, I needed to pick up some anti-frizz spray from Sephora. My win for the day was that I got a front spot right in front of the store. If you’ve ever been to City Centre, then you know how hard it can to find parking. They were out of the Oribe brand that I typically use, and I really didn’t feel like going to another location to grab it. So, I decided to try a new brand. Jury is still out on whether or not I like this. I’m going to give it a few tries, and I’ll report back. It’s the Living Proof Frizz Humidity Shield – and Lord knows it gets super humid here in Houston.

Houston | autos

After that, I headed back home, and Aaron was done working. Our friend, Tyler, came over to hang out for a bit – and to look at the car that Aaron picked up that day. If you are new here, my husband is in the auto biz, and he brings home some really unique cars. This one was super modified – and one of the fastest cars my husband said he’s driven. I got in it to see the inside, and you could feel the horsepower as soon as the engine was turned on.

After that, Aaron and I had movie night – and went to bed.

Sunday

Aaron and I headed to church Sunday morning. Before it started raining. Again. I really thought we would be done with the rain, but no dice.

Sayulita Mexico | tequila tasting

We ran home after church to wait out the rain, and I had to finalize our itinerary for our upcoming trip. This tequila tasting is on the books for sure. We’ve got some other fun activities planned, which I’ll share in a post-trip recap.

rain photo

After that, we needed to run into Pottery Barn because I wanted to look at some light fixtures for my office. My old light fixture kicked the bucket during the freeze, so a new one it is. They only had the chandelier-style fixtures in the store, which is not helpful because I’m a visual person. I might just have to buy the one I have my eye on and hope for the best. That photo is my “I’m not thrilled to be running errands in the rain” photo.

pottery barn

Gotta love the rain. After Pottery Barn, we ran over to Home Depot to look at paint swatches and to pick up the flooring that we need for our remaining three bedrooms. I can’t wait to see the final product once our contractor and his team wrap up. Luckily, it stopped raining long enough for us to carry the flooring into our garage.

Home Depot | Montrose oak

And, that really wraps up our weekend. I’ve got a short week ahead of me (I gave myself a longer Memorial Day weekend by taking Friday off), so I’m going to be working hard to wrap things up in a four-day work week. Have a great week.
