Weekend Edit +Tiny Trader Joes Haul

Trader joes

Happy Monday, friends! We had ourselves quite the weekend over here. We have some friends coming into town this coming weekend, so I wanted to get my house in order and decorated for fall. There are a very busy three weeks ahead of us, so I used this weekend to get my act together. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Friday

golden retrievers

Friday started off bright and early – we dropped Tex and Cali off at the vet so they could get spayed and neutered. Here was what they looked like when I told them where we were going.

All went well, and we were able to pick them up around 4 p.m. In between, my Friday at work kind of exploded, and I took on a project that required my undivided attention for several hours on end. We pooped over to pick them up at 4, and they were not in good spirits. My poor little Spuds were so tired – and not feeling well. So, I worked until about 6:30 – and fixed them up beds by my desk.

After that, Aaron and I picked up some Tex Mex, and we headed over to bring dinner to our friends in celebration of his new house. We’ve been wanting to stop by, but…. life…. so Friday was the day. It was great catching up and seeing his new digs.

Saturday

breakfast

It was kind of a rough night for everyone on Friday night. The dogs were in pain – so I Aaron and I just didn’t sleep well. I was up around 7:30 on Saturday, which is kind of rare for me (I love to sleep in). I made breakfast, and I headed back to my desk to wrap up that work project.

And, Aaron headed out to work also. It’s been busy around here 🙂 I try not to make a habit out of working on the weekends – I really make a conscious effort to not check email on Saturday and Sundays, and it’s brought me great peace of mind. That being said, I needed to get this project wrapped, so I made an exception (and not a habit).

peloton

I got a quick Peloton run in, and I felt great!

By that time, Aaron brought home a late lunch for both of us. I switched dog duty with him so I could go run essential errands – like put gas in my car and grab some more dog food. By the time I got back home, Aaron had set up our new Halloween inflatable. We’ve got a ton of kids in the neighborhood, so we thought it would be fun to add to our Halloween decor this year.

All the Ways Hocus Pocus 2 Called Back to the Original Movie - E! Online - CA

We ended the night with Hocus Pocus 2, and while I would love to stay that I stayed up past 11 p.m., that just wasn’t the case. I was exhausted, ya’ll. I loves Hocus Pocus 2, and I wasn’t sure where they would take this one since the first movie is such a cult classic. It was really nicely done, and I’ll probably make it a point to rewatch every year just like the OG!

Sunday

chia seed pudding

We headed to church yesterday morning, but before we left, I had my chia seed pudding for breakfast. After church, we did a little H-E-B curbside pickup, and we headed home so I could decorate my house for fall. I’ll share our fall decor on Wednesday’s post.

We were missing a few things from my H-E-B order, which is rare, but I needed to go Trader Joes anyways. And by “needed to go,” I mean that I was looking for an excuse to go buy some of their pumpkin items. So, off to Trader Joes I went. Here’s my mini haul. I was kind of in a rush because it was dinner time, but the items I got are some of my faves.

This pasta is one of my fall staples. I love love love this pasta. It’s sturdy, and it’s shape actually holds your pasta sauce like a little cup. It’s my must-have ingredient for my pumpkin sausage pasta.

Trader joes

Seasonal ravioli is one of my favorite things to try at Trader Joes. I’ve had this pumpkin ravioli before, and it’s delicious. I also grabbed this sauce to try with it.

I figured the savory, white sauce would go well with the sweet pumpkin. I also needed so enchilada sauce for a different recipe I’m making this week.

I’ve been dying to try this unexpected cheddar spread. Have you ever tried the unexpected cheddar cheese? It’s delicious, but they upped it to the next level by creating a spread. So good. 10/10.

And, I grabbed a mini cinnamon broom. I keep one in my entryway during the fall. These tiny brooms pack a lot of punch – and last quite awhile. And that was mini Trader Joes haul. I booked it home, so I could make my pumpkin sausage pasta for dinner. When I told you that fall has arrived at our household (despite the 80 degree weather), I wasn’t kidding.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! I’ll be back Wednesday with my fall tour!
