Weekend in Review

Broadbent | vinho verde

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Today is going to be one of those days that is filled with meetings. It’s hard to get actual work done when I’m in meetings all day, but luckily, my schedule clears up slightly for the remainder of the week. Here’s what’s on my agenda today:

  • Training – new intranet
  • Anniversary design meeting
  • Team meeting
  • Quarterly 1:1
  • Tribute – panel discussion

I’ve also got my pool guy coming over at some point today to get our pool summer ready – and our neighbors are bringing over some leftover mulch for us to use in our garden beds. I feel like I’m adulting on another level today. 🙂

Friday

supertunia

Ya’ll. It was raining all day Friday, and Aaron and I felt like just vegging out on the couch with some Netflix. Aaron grabbed some Chick Fil-A for us on his way home, and we just relaxed. It was really the best way to spend our Friday.

Saturday

I did a Kira Stokes workout on Saturday morning

h-e-b curbside

I did grocery pick up at H-E-B. It was raining, and the sign fell over and whacked the front of my car. They need a better solution that putting their signs in flimsy buckets. My car was okay, and I got my groceries – so all ended up being okay.

My friend is a sommelier, and she recommended a new white wine for me to try. I added this bottle to my order and plan to try it at some point this week. Stay tuned.

limoncello | la croix

This was another great find. I hadn’t tried the Limoncello La Croix, but I love a good sparkling water. These are delicious.

Aaron and I headed out to grab some Nothing Bundt Cakes for a birthday party we were going to Saturday evening. And, after that, we headed over to my friend Amy’s for her husband’s birthday. They recently redid their backyard, and it looks fabulous. I don’t have any pictures, because I left my phone in my purse when I arrived, and I never took it back out.

Sunday

Aaron and I headed to church Sunday morning. And it sure is good to be back in person.

unsweetened iced green tea

We stopped by Starbucks on our way home. I can’t get enough of their iced green tea. I’m trying to cut back on my sugar a bit, and their unsweetened green tea is so refreshing. It almost tastes like it might have some mint.

I had some fun plans with two of my girlfriends on Sunday afternoon. I met my friend Katie for a walk around Rice, and it was good to see her. The last time I saw her was in February. I used to see her more because we work at the same place.

copa

Then, we met our friend, Kristen, for a drink at Copa in Rice Village. I had a jalapeño margarita. The weather was great, so it was fun to just sit down for several hours with some cocktails and charcuterie. I was giving out belated birthday gifts and Christmas gifts like it was my job.

After that, I headed back home, and my husband had mowed our yard and did the laundry!

Quick update on our home repairs

We are still waiting for our sheetrock to be put in, but we have someone coming out this week to come measure. Supposedly. There is a major shortage of labor – and supplies in the U.S., which is why is taking so long to get this job finished. If you are new here, we had some issues with our new house during the Texas freeze in February. We’ve made some progress (completely new piping and new floor in one of our bedrooms), but we have some sheet rocking and painting that needs to be finished as well.
