Weekend Recap

Houston Zeta Alumnae

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I missed Friday’s post because…. life. I had a pretty busy week last week with my fall activities starting up (and by activities I really mean some fun girl’s nights). I was also pretty buried in email from my week off – but, I’m back today ready to take on this week.

Last week

Since I was MIA for my Friday Favorites, I’ll share some fun things I was up to last week. Ya’ll know that I’m a big Bachelor and Bachelorette fan. But, Bachelor in Paradise might be my favorite. I have a group of friends that watch the Bachelor/ette together, but we took a break during COVID. And last week, we were back at it. It was so good to have some wine, and some dinner and watch the hot mess that is Bachelor in Paradise. It’s going be good! I can’t believe that Grocery Store Joe is back – and Demi was also quite a surprise.

Houston Zeta Alumnae

And, if you’re new around here, I was a Zeta Tau Alpha in college. I have been to a couple of Zeta Houston Alumnae events over the years, but have never really fully committed because my work schedule and commute got in the way. But, now that I’m working from home, I have a bit of flexibility to go to these types of events. Their kickoff event was last week at The Forest Club in Houston. I went with one of my besties, and I had a lot of fun meeting some of the Zeta alumnae in Houston. I plan on getting more involved this year.

Friday

Look at my cute co-workers

I had a full workday on Friday, and so did Aaron. We had ourselves a wild Friday night let me tell ya.

kira Stokes workout

I got a workout in after I finished working, and then we got my car washed. I have a white car, and she was filthy after making the drive from Oklahoma last week. We grabbed dinner and watched ourselves some more Walking Dead. I really can’t believe how I haven’t seen this show before, and I’m hooked!

Saturday

golden retriever

The puppies actually let us sleep in a bit on Saturday morning. They slept in until 8, which I consider a big win. I’m not a morning person, and the time my body naturally wakes up without an alarm is usually between 8 and 9. But, I rarely get to sleep in. They have discovered how to shred toys, and this is what I found after leaving them alone for about ten minutes :).

trails

I did some cleaning up around the house, and Aaron and I decided to go on a walk on the trails behind our neighborhood. We got in 5 (HOT) miles.

After that, we ran some errands – we needed a couple of things from Academy. And we finished our night off at home with some more Walking Dead. I love to be around our people. I love going out to dinner with friends – and just generally being around our people. But, I also love some time to decompress and hang with my fam at home.

Sunday

kodiak protein pancakes

We woke up yesterday morning, and I got to work making some protein pancakes. It was time to make it back to church in person, and I’m always glad when we go. Our pastor is back from his sabbatical and is doing a message on David.

After that, I had grocery pick-up at H-E-B, but we were a bit early. So, Aaron and I went to grab some sushi at a new (to me) sushi place. It was one of those conveyor belt sushi places, and it was pretty good.

Houston trails

We took Sunday afternoon naps, which we we haven’t done in awhile. And after that, we set off on another walk – another five miles for the win.

Italian chpped salad

I made some of my Italian pasta salad for dinner, and we finished the evening with some more Walking Dead. It’s addicting, let me tell ya.

Happy Monday!!!!
