Weekend Wrap-up

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I’m wrapping up mine today. It’s a bit of a short week for me, and I’m really looking forward to a long, four-day weekend. We are having our annual 4th of July party at our new house this year, so I’m prepping for that this week. I’ve got a tennis lesson this evening (if it doesn’t rain). And, other than that – it should be a relatively quiet week. Here’s what we were up to this weekend.

Friday

I was trying to finish up some goal project for this fiscal year during my work day on Friday. By the time I knew it, I had been sitting in front of my computer for the majority of the day. Aaron got home around 6ish, and we both decided that we would just pick up some food for dinner – and watch some Netflix. Super exciting, I know, but it was just what we needed after these last couple of weeks.

Niko Niko's

We went with one of my favorites, Niko Niko’s for dinner. I love their chicken soup – and their greek salad.

Saturday

The pups woke us up early Saturday morning, so I had time to get a quick workout in before I headed to H-E-B to pick up my groceries. Still thankful for curbside at H-E-B. After that, Aaron and I did some work around the house.

We played with the pups. Look at how precious they are. We are still working on some potty training, but we are making some progress. I think it’s the cutest how they snuggle together when they sleep. During the day, they aren’t super cuddly with each other, but they are sweet to each other when they sleep.

Nespresso

My order of Nespresso pods came in! This time, I went with the Mexico blend, Melozio, Bianco Forte, Caramel Cookie and Vanilla Custard.

Lake Conroe

Then, it was time for Aaron’s birthday dinner. Aaron and I sometimes ride our bikes up by Lake Conroe, and we’ve eaten at restaurants on the water. So this year for his birthday, he wanted to eat at a restaurant on the water on Lake Conroe. I decided to look up a new (to us) restaurant and landed on Waldens Lakeview Dining.

The view was gorgeous and the food was delicious. I went with the Shrimp Scampi, Aaron had the burger, and our friends had some of the steak options.

I opted for the pecan pie for dessert. The drive was just over an hour, and I could see us going back for a Sunday brunch.

Sunday

We opted to watch church online yesterday morning. And, I hope to be back in more of a routine to return in person next week.

breakfast tacos

I made some breakfast tacos for Sunday breakfast.

I snuggled with the pups some more. They are really the sweetest things, and as more of their personalities are starting to come out, I really think they are going to be the perfect fit for our family. They crawled right into my lap and fell asleep.

ruggable

I washed my Ruggable, and I’m 100% sold on these rugs. The one I have by my front door was really dirty because the workers were in and out. So, I decided to wash it, and it got so clean. It was incredibly easy. Aaron and I decided to order one for the main space in our living room because it’s such a high traffic area. And the rug I bought for our living room will go in one of our guest bedrooms. My friend gave me the tip to let it dry in the dryer until it’s almost dry. And then, to finish off with an air dry. I did that, and I didn’t notice any shrinkage.

I did a quick workout, and we folded alllll the laundry, which we’ve needed to do for about two weeks now. After that, we really worked on getting more things put away/where they belong in our house. It’s really taking shape, which I’m so grateful for.

I’ve got my mosquito people coming today to spray so my guests won’t be bothered by mosquitos this weekend. I hope you all have a wonderful week. I’ll share some of my plans/preparation for my 4th of July party this week, along with some other fun things!
