Friday Favorites

Ruggable

Happy Friday, friends! I don’t know about you, but I’ve had such a busy week. Since I took last Friday off (and it was the best decision), I feel like I’ve been playing catch-up this entire week. It’s been one of those weeks where I’m just doing my best to stay on top of emails: one goes out, another comes in. I’m so grateful to be doing a job that I enjoy so much, and I actually really enjoy juggling multiple projects at once that I can bounce back and forth between – I also put my time off in for the rest of the fiscal year, and that, my friends, is a highly recommended activity. A couple of long weekends here and there and actually *gasp* put in some time off to take a little vacation.

I’m still really missing our boy. I got the call from our vet yesterday that Sawyer’s ashes are ready for me to pick up. So, I need to gather up the courage to go get those at some point soon. As soon as I see what size urn I need, I’ve got several options lined up.

And he’s a photo of my sweet Sawyer for good measure. I still miss his sweet little face every day. This was taken the week right before he passed away. It was almost like he knew he had special privileges. He climbed up on that spot when I was in a meeting, and I looked back, and he was just snuggled up on the couch. And, while it’s not a Friday Favorite of mine that he’s no longer with us, I do feel more at peace in knowing that he’s no longer in any pain.

strawberry cheesecake

Now, this is a favorite. Our friend dropped this cheesecake off for us the week after Sawyer died. It was delicious. I wasn’t super hungry – and I didn’t feel like making any dinner – so this cheesecake was my dinner that week if I’m being honest.

Ruggable

I purchased my first Ruggable. I started with an entryway rug, because I’m considering buying a larger rug for our living room. The dogs and humans really put a lot of wear and tear on our living room rugs, and I really need one that I can wash. But, I wanted to try one out before I bought one for a larger space. I. Love. This. Rug. This is a Friday Favorite a million times over. This spot in my home gets a lot of action. People are in and out the front door. Dogs are in and out the front door. I mean, people are tracking in all kinds of things. I haven’t had to even wash the rug yet, because my little Roomba has been putting in the work. I want to see how it lays after I wash it, but I’m already honestly kind of sold on it. I love the way it feels – it’s sleek and smooth – and I love all of their patterns. I’ll be back with another review once I wash it – so stay tuned.

We needed some pool towels for when our friends come over to swim. So, I’ve been looking for some cute towels to add to the mix. I found these, and I love them. I am very into the tassels, and I love the white and gray stripes.

And last, but not least, I’ll leave you with this gem: my Costco lawn fertilizer. Ya’ll, I have never ever been a yard person until we bought our house, and now, I feel like it’s kind of my baby. Aaron grabbed this stuff at Costco the other day, and started spreading it on our front yard. After a good water – and about a week or two……

This is what our grass looks like compared to the neighbors. It’s such a noticeable difference, and it’s helped the front grass come back after the freeze. This is what we bought, and you can do it once – or you can spread this about four time each year.

It’s a game changer for the yard. And, I’m laughing at myself because who would have thought my yard would excited me. But, here we are 🙂

Anyways, I’m going to take that as a sign that I’ve overshared for the day, and I hope you all enjoy your Friday and your weekend.
