A cold front + Friday things

birdies

Happy Friday! This is Houston’s weekend forecast, and I might just go ahead and get myself my first Starbucks Pumpkin Spice latte of the season:

Speaking of pumpkin spice, I still love my Pumpkin Spice Cake Nespresso pods. They are delicious with my Pumpkin Oat Milk creamer – or with some regular oat milk that I froth in my aeroccino.

Speaking of Starbucks, I’m intrigued by this new fall flavor that they released this year: the apple crisp macchiato. It looks like it’s got a lot of sugar in it, and I’m not the biggest fan of sweet drinks, but I might give it a try.

Friday Things

This week has been a good one. Monday and Tuesday dragged on forever. Those days were packed with meetings, and I don’t love those days because I feel like I can’t get other stuff done. But Wednesday and Thursday flew by.

A tennis lesson and a cold front

Houston tennis lesson

I had a tennis lesson Wednesday night, which was excellent timing. Houston’s “cold front” arrived just in time for Fall. It lowered the humidity and we had some pretty perfect weather days.

succulents

I haven’t talked about my succulent garden because there are way more successful succulents gardens out in the world. Succulents were given out as wedding favors at our wedding, and I’ve had a few that have lasted these five years. I found them a nice spot in our backyard, and they have really been thriving this year. This one in the photo above was a tiny little thing, and it’s really grown this year.

birdies

My new Birdies came in the mail this week! I’ve been trying to hunt down this color in my size for a couple of months, and I finally found a pair. They arrived this week, and they are so comfortable. I saw these slippers on their website, and I honestly might have to try a pair!

I’ve got Book Club coming up, and the book for the month of October is The Silent Patient. I haven’t started it yet, but I’ve got it queued up in my Kindle. Maybe I’ll start it this weekend?

WFH Lunches

Because I was in meetings for the majority of my mornings through mid-afternoons this week, my husband was on lunch duty. One of the perks of working from home. He prepped my drink (and you know we love a sparkling water – that one’s a Watermelon and Mint Big Swig) in my favorite Baylor cup with a stainless steel straw. Much appreciated!!!

What are your weekend plans? We are doing dinner tonight with Alice, trying a new restaurant on Saturday night with some friends and having some friends over for pool time on Sunday after church. I also need to figure out our guest bedroom situations. We have the furniture, but they are in desperate need of some organization, and I would really like to get through at least one this weekend.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
