Decorating for fall

Happy Wednesday, friends. Did anyone watch the season premier of The Bachelorette last night? I did, and I’ll start recapping after a couple of weeks when they begin narrowing down the men. I’m so looking forward for Michelle to be The Bachelorette, and I think she will do a wonderful job. But today, I’m sharing my fall decor!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got two days left to my week. As I mentioned in Monday’s post, Cali wasn’t feeling well this weekend. So, we took a quick trip to the vet yesterday, and they think Cali might have giardia. We’ve started Tex on meds too just in case, and he has since started showing some signs he might have it. It’s treatable, but it’s kind of a tricky parasite to treat. Apparently, it’s relatively common in Houston after it rains, and they could have picked it up in the yard by licking their paws. They are doing well, eating, drinking and taking their meds. Fingers crossed we can knock this out ASAP.

Fall decorating

But, on this Wednesday, I’m here to take about fall decorating, which I did get accomplished this weekend! It makes me so happy to put out all of my fall stuff every year. Because we had only been in the house about a month this time last year, I didn’t put out all of my fall decorations. So, I have been looking forward to getting out some of my favorite fall decor pieces for one of my favorite times of the year.

This year, we decided to do the big spiders on the exterior of the house. Our neighborhood always goes all out for Halloween, and we get a ton of trick-or-treaters, so we wanted our exterior fall decor to be special. I ordered some of these guys off of Amazon, and Aaron and I stuck them on the outside of the house.

I am not doing mums this year because I can’t ever seem to keep them alive. So, I decided to put my lanterns out, along with my “Boo” sign and my Baylor pumpkins.

This little fall sign was a gift from a friend a couple of years ago, and I love to pull it out every year.

I added some fall pillows around the house.

I redid my mantle. I Boo sign was a Hobby Lobby purchase many many years ago. The Gather sign was a purchase several years ago from Smallwood Homes.

I put a few fall touches in my kitchen, like this Williams Sonoma pumpkin pie plate, and I put out my spider mugs.

Fall recipes

Even though Houston got a cool(er) front last week, it’s still a tad bit hot to be cooking for fall. But, if you live in a location that actually gets a true fall, here are two recipes that you can try.

My squash casserole is one of my favorite things to make. It easy, cheesy and delicious.

I feel like I might make some pumpkin bread this weekend if I get a chance. And, now that I mentioned it, I’m really craving a warm slice!

On that note, I’ll stop right here. I hope that you have a wonderful Wednesday!
