Bachelor Recap

Bachelor Recap: Episode 6

I’m back today recapping episode 6 of The Bachelor. In case you missed how last week ended, you can catch up here. This week starts off with the conflict between MJ and Jessenia. Matt talks with each of the women separately to get to the bottom of the issue. Jessenia reaffirms that she is in the for Matt (who honestly seemed like he didn’t even know who she was). MJ pulls on the tears when it’s her turn to speak with Matt. It just seems really disingenuous especially given everything we’ve been shown everything she’s been saying behind the scenes.

The Bachelor | MJ

MJ ultimately gets sent home. And, I’m proud of Matt for not catering to bad behavior like that.

Rose Ceremony

Chris Harrison walks in and informs the women that there will not be a cocktail party before the rose ceremony. And nothing can make these women become more unhinged than a cancelled cocktail party. The ladies who get sent home are:

  • Brittany
  • Ryan
  • Magi

The Surprise Guest

The show has been teasing this next part since it started airing several weeks ago. Heather Martin (from Colton’s season) rolls up in a minivan asking for Chris Harrison (as if he didn’t know she was coming). But, why did she show up in a minivan, though?

One on One: Pieper

THE BACHELOR – ABC’s Pieper. (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

Matt takes Pieper to a carnival in the woods. It does seem like a pretty fun date, and Matt and Pieper seem like they have okay chemistry, but I feel like I’ve seen him have better connections with some of the other women. Pieper gets the rose. And before they head out for the evening, the producers Matt has a band set up to play for them.

Group Date

bowling date | the bachelor

Bri, Kit, Rachael, Michelle, Jessenia, Serena P., Abigail, Chelsea and Serena C. all get invited to the group date. Matt takes the women bowling for the group date, which seems like a ton of fun. But, Chris Harrison splits the ladies up into two teams, and the winning team gets to spend the evening with Matt, but the losing team gets sent back to the hotel.

Jessenia, Michelle, Chelsea and Serena P. are on the winning team, and they get to head to the evening portion of the date. Plot twist: Matt invites the losing team to join in on the evening date. Michelle gets the group date rose.

One on One with Katie

THE BACHELOR – (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

Fan favorite from Hannah Brown’s season, Tyler (also Matt’s bestie), shows up to get Matt in the right headspace. Katie and Matt have the best date. They are going to prank Tyler while he gets a massage. The masseuse has a microphone in her ear, while Matt and Katie tell her what to do and say. This was one of my favorite dates to watch.

During the evening portion of their date, the conversation kind of fizzles a bit. Katie does not get a rose, and she gets sent home. Noooooooo – she was one of my favorites. I thoroughly enjoyed her humor, maturity and honesty. Bigger and better things, my friend!

Heather…

So, they’ve left Heather hanging this entire episode. It looks like she’s finally going to get to make her grand entrance at the rose ceremony. Annnnd, it wouldn’t be The Bachelor if they didn’t leave us with a cliffhanger until next week. Based off of next week’s previews, the ladies are not loving the fact that Heather has arrived!
