It’s Wedding Week

wedding

Happy Monday, friends! It’s officially my bestie’s wedding week. Which means that I spent a big majority of this weekend getting ready, and I’ve officially tired myself out. I had all the intentions of decorating for Christmas this weekend, but by the time Sunday rolled around, I was down for the count. I’ve been eating a gigantic slice of humble pie lately, and part of that means listening to my body and resting when I need to.

That means that my house didn’t get decorated for Christmas like I had hoped, but it will eventually. Instead, I took the time to check off the items that were a must do on my list like pick up my bridesmaids dress, buy some shoes to wear for the wedding, choose my rehearsal dinner outfit and more!

Getting Engaged

I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane about the last several months. It all started back in
March with a big rodeo engagement. Chris Stapleton was playing, so Aaron and I grabbed tickets to be in attendance for Chris – and the proposal!

A Walk Down Memory Lane

Baylor University

My bestie and I met our freshman year at Baylor, which means that we’ve known each other for 18 years now. We were fast friends and sorority sisters. And, even though we never actually lived together in college, we hung out all the time. We would spend our Thursday nights at Treffs listening to Piano Man, and we both dated guys who were in the same fraternity.

That photo above in the pink frame was taken for fun during the last days of our senior year. We thought it would be fun to go around campus and take some pictures around Baylor. These were times that I’ll treasure for so many reasons. And that second photo is of us at Baylor homecoming.

Krob

Eventually, I moved to Austin after we graduated so I could attend grad school, but Krob moved to Dallas to work. But, we still saw each other frequently. She ended up going to PA school in Galveston right around the time I made the move from Austin to Houston, so we were back in close proximity. A PA School rotation meant that she ended up living on my couch in my one-bedroom apartment for a bit. And ultimately, we finally became roommates.

There were so many birthday parties, Christmas parties, time with friends and just living our lives in our 20s (and early 30s). We saw each other through first loves, heartbreaks, first jobs, second jobs, promotions, awards and so much more. And, while our friendship has morphed as both of us have entered into various seasons of our lives, we will always be besties! It’s an honor to stand by her side this coming weekend – just like she did for me at my wedding!

Bachelorette Party

She got engaged in March, and she set a wedding date for December, which meant that the bachelorette party and couple’s shower planning happened pretty quickly. The bachelorette party was set for August in Cabo! And we all know how that went.

There was a lot of pool, a lot of spa, a lot of boating, hat-making and more.

We all had the best time for her Final Fiesta!

Couple’s Shower

And in October, we celebrated them with a couple’s shower here in Houston.

And, later this week, I’ll head to Fredericksburg to finalize a few last minute wedding to-dos before we get our girl hitched on Saturday. I need to sit down this week and write my speech. I’ll make an attempt to put into words what our friendship has meant over the years – let’s just hope that my pregnancy hormones don’t get the best of me 🙂
