Bachelor Recap

The Bachelor Recap: Episode 5

Happy Tuesday! I’m back today after a long weekend away, which I’ll share about tomorrow, but today, I’m here recapping last night’s The Bachelor. If you need to get caught up, you can start with my recaps here.

Week 5

THE BACHELOR – ABC’s Brittany. (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

This episode started off with Matt addressing the group of women about the bullying that was happening in the house. The OG’s versus the new girls. He also wanted to talk about the elephant in the room: the ol’ escort rumor. So, Matt and Brittany sat down to talk about the rumors (we should play a little game: take a shot every time homegirl says the word “like”).

During the course of their conversation, it comes out that Anna is the one who started the escort rumor, so he grabs her to talk about what was going on. She said she immediately felt bad about spreading the rumor, but if ya feel bad about something, why would you say something like that in the first place? I think she was sad that she got caught. Matt sends Anna home.

queen Victoria

The fact that Matt sends Anna home starts the apology train rolling. The DOGs are now apologizing to the new women left and right. Even Queen Victoria apologized for being rude to the new women (apparently she’s been calling one of the new women a ho). These late apologies don’t sit well with the new women.

Can we hit the pause button here? I’m not loving all the drama in the house. Can the ladies just hug it out already?

Queen Victoria

Matt pulls Victoria aside, and she seems very shocked by the fact that he believes she is contributing to the toxicity in the house. Unfortunately, during the course of their conversation, Matt tells Victoria that Katie is the one who spilled the beans about all of the problems in the house (see last week’s ending). And it sends Victoria down a path.

They have got to be trolling the viewers with Victoria – right? No way is someone this tone deaf about what her edit is going to look like.

Rose Ceremony

This brings us to the rose ceremony. Can we just talk about how they stood the Queen right next to Katie. The drama! Queen Victoria does not get a rose, along with several other women whose names I honestly can’t remember. Can’t say I’m too sad to see her go.

One on One Date

THE BACHELOR – ABC’s Rachael. (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

The first one on one date of the episode goes to Rachel. She gets the best date. Matt takes her shopping, and Rachael has her Pretty Woman moment. During the dinner portion of their date, Rachael reveals that she is already falling in love with Matt. She (obviously) gets the rose.

Group date

farm date | the bachelor

Back at the house, Serena P., Bri, Katie, Pieper, Ryan, Michelle, Brittany, Magi, Abigail, Chelsea, Jesenia, MJ and Serena C. are all invited on the next group date. It’s a farm date, which just happens to be one of my favorite Bachelor dates. They had these ladies milking goats and collecting chicken eggs.

THE BACHELOR – ABC’s Abigail. (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

We need to talk about Abigail. I really like her, and I hope she either ends up with Matt, or that we see her back on screen as the Bachelorette. She shares that she doesn’t want to disappoint Matt. Let’s unpack this conversation a bit. Abigail tells Matt that her biological father left when she was little, and she is worried that someone might not love her because there is a high probability her children could be deaf. Bless her. I hope Abigail realizes she has so much more worth than she gives herself credit for. I hope whoever she ends up with genuinely cherishes this gem of a woman.

Bullying Round 2

Matt pulls Anna aside and explains to her that someone told him that Anna was a problem in the house. This starts a whole other round of arguing amongst the women.

Matt gives the group date rose to Abigail!

Kit’s 1 on 1 Date

THE BACHELOR – ABC’s Kit. (ABC/Craig Sjodin)

Kit was introduced to all of us a socialite. Which got me going down the research hole. Turns out, Kit just happens to be Cynthia Rowley’s daughter. This explains why I like literally all of her outfits. She’s a cute girl, but, as the youngest woman in the house, I think Kit needs to kiss a few more frogs before she finds her prince! Kit gets a rose.

MJ and Jessenia are invited to the cocktail party early to talk about what the issue is between the two women. Big hair, big hoops, big energy tonight (courtesy of MJ)! Annnnd…. the episode ends on a cliffhanger!
